Writer/Director Steve Anderson Brings Hollywood and Indie Filmmaking Secrets to Script-Com!

Writer/Director/Producer Steve Anderson will be an Instructor at the Script-Com Screenwriters Conference in Nashville on November 16 & 17.

Steve's films have been distributed by both Hollywood and independent studios and have screened theatrically, on home video, cable, streaming, and on the festival circuit. He brings his expertise in writing and directing to two workshops, one on writing crime stories and a panel on low-budget filmmaking.

Steve's screenplays in the crime thriller/mystery genre became underground cult hits, including 'The River Murders' starring Ray Liotta, Christian Slater, and Ving Rhames; 'The Big Empty' starring Jon Favreau, Kelsey Grammer, Daryl Hannah, and Sean Bean; and 'White Orchid' starring Olivia Thirlby, John Carroll Lynch and Jennifer Beals.

Steve is also an accomplished director who has a unique history making low-budget films using guerilla filmmaking and marketing tactics. His 'This Last Lonely Place' was a Kickstarter success story almost entirely filmed in a taxi cab while his documentary 'F*CK' became a viral breakout hit around the world. He started his career in journalism and is a Peabody Award-winning filmmaker with multiple documentaries shown on PBS.

Steve will lead two panels at Script-Com. One focused on writing in the crime-thriller genre and another focused on low-budget filmmaking. Steve has appeared on multiple episodes of the streaming series 'Page 2 Screen', produced by the Tennessee Screenwriting Association.
