On behalf of the 2025 TSA Board of Directors, I want to wish you and those you care about Happy Holidays, no matter which holiday you are celebrating!
As you enjoy the company of family and friends and reflect on all you did this past year, give some thought to what your writing goals for next year will be.
Will 2025 be the year you write a new screenplay? Are you ready to present a logline or your story synopsis at one of TSA’s Wednesday Workshops and develop your idea into the best screenplay it can be?
Maybe 2025 is the year you’ll finish the current draft you’re writing and get it in front of your fellow writers at a TSA workshop and then out onto the contest circuit..?
When was the last time you practiced your story’s pitch? TSA is planning Pitch School sessions in the summer, so work that into your goals.
The other thing you need to add to your list is to enter a short script into TSA’s Short ‘N Sweet contest. This would be a script that’s less than 14 pages and is themed around Valentine’s Day. A love story, a rom-com, a fantasy… something that tugs at our heartstrings. The deadline for Short ‘N Sweet is right around the corner on Feb. 14 and updated details are coming soon!
My 2025 writing goals are to complete drafts on the two horror feature scripts I developed in 2024 and to do a rewrite on an action-thriller I received coverage on. I have some other goals related to producing and directing, but this covers my writing goals. What are yours?
Feel free to drop us a line and tell us what they are in as little or as much detail as you want. Whether you make your goals public or keep them to yourself, at least make the commitment to raise the bar on your productivity in 2025. TSA will be here like we have been since 1988 to help you!
Enjoy your holidays and remember… keep on writing!
-Mark
